Calcean Coarse Aragonite

Calcean is changing the way we look at natural resources and their integration into well-known products and industries. Calcean uses renewable, biogenic calcium carbonate derived from oolitic aragonite sand sourced from the Bahamas. Oolitic aragonite is a renewable and sustainably produced resource. It forms naturally on the shores of the Bahamas during natural precipitation events called "whitings."

During these events, cyanobacteria blooms capture carbon from the atmosphere and a mineralization process takes place, forming aragonite.

Aragonite is a versatile renewable resource that offers a number of advantages over standard mined ground calcium carbonate (GCC). GCC is not a renewable resource and has a different morphological structure than oolitic aragonite. The unique structure of Oolitic aragonite gives it many advantages, such as increased surface area, high negative zeta potential and high bioavailability of calcium.

Calcium carbonate derived from aragonite is biogenic and naturally occurring. Protect the reef by using this superior and durable substrate. Save the world's coral reefs by not using coral sand.

Instructions

Rinse the material well in a bucket with clean water. Do not use soap or other cleaning agents. Continue rinsing the material until the overflow water turns from milky to slightly cloudy. Any remaining cloudiness will disappear after a few hours by filtering the aquarium.
