AQUADIP Copepods 80 ml

AQUADIP Copepods are small live crustaceans that naturally form an important part of the coral reef ecosystem. In marine aquariums, they help increase biodiversity while providing a natural live food source for various fish and other reef inhabitants.

Adding live copepods can be particularly beneficial in newly established marine aquariums. When sufficient hiding places and suitable conditions are available, copepods can establish themselves and reproduce within the aquarium.

Natural live food

Copepods are an important natural food source for many marine fish that continuously hunt for small crustaceans and zooplankton in the wild.

• Ideal live food for mandarinfish and other plankton feeders
• Encourages natural foraging behaviour
• Helps increase the microfauna population in the aquarium
• Contributes to a varied and natural food supply

Ideal for refugiums

AQUADIP Copepods are also highly suitable for adding to a refugium. The refugium provides a relatively protected environment where the copepods can establish and reproduce. Part of the population can then gradually enter the main aquarium through the water circulation system.

Directions for use

For best results, add the copepods when the fish are less active and, if possible, temporarily switch off circulation and return pumps. This gives the copepods time to spread throughout the aquarium and find shelter between rocks, substrate and other protected areas.

In newly established aquariums, additional copepods can be introduced regularly during the initial period to help establish a stable population.
