Application and usage advice

For the best results, follow a number of important steps. First, siphon off as much visible cyanobacteria as possible. Remove all filter media such as activated carbon, phosphate removers, and zeolite. Temporarily switch off the UV sterilizer and ozonator. Ensure sufficient water flow and oxygen in the aquarium during the treatment, for example by installing an additional air pump.

• Dosage: 50 ml RidRed per 100 liters of aquarium water
• Treatment duration: 48 hours
• After 48 hours: replace 20% of the water with a high-quality sea salt (such as Royal Nature Ion-Balanced)
• Next, place ultra-pure activated carbon (such as AMS SuperCarbon) in a fluidized bed filter.
• After 24 hours, all filter media, UV, and ozonator may be switched on again.

Extra tips for a permanently clean aquarium

It is normal for the protein skimmer to be temporarily overactive after the treatment. Monitor this closely and empty the collection cup as needed. To restore the bacterial balance, we recommend using AMS Bacti Pro-extra after the treatment. This supports the growth of beneficial bacteria and prevents the return of cyanobacteria.

• AMS Bacti Pro-extra: 5 ml per 100 liters daily during the first week
• Then 5 ml per 100 liters weekly, until the bottle is empty.
