Supplement with highly concentrated strontium and barium. Strontium, after calcium and magnesium, is one of the most important elements necessary for the growth of hard corals.
Strontium supports the formation of hard coral skeletal tissue and significantly improves calcium absorption. It also supports the growth of soft corals. In a closed aquarium system, skimmer and filtration media remove strontium deposits from the water, therefore supplementation is necessary.
To ensure that the aquarium conditions are as close as possible to the natural ones, the preparation was enriched with the addition of barium, which is also present and significant in seawater. Thanks to the correct proportions, Strontium effectively fills the strontium and barium deficiencies in aquarium water and guarantees the perfect ratio of these elements.
Dosage
- 10 ml of the product increases strontium content by 1 mg / l (ppm) in 100 liters (27 US gal) of water.
- The recommended strontium content in aquarium water is 6.00 - 10.00 mg / l (ppm).
The dosage should be based on the consumption of microelements. Note that each aquarium is different and the final dosage will depend on the coral sand and individual aquarium needs. Both a deficiency and an excess of micronutrients will affect the aquarium inhabitants, therefore the dosage should be selected and adjusted based on regular Aquaforest Lab water tests.
Recommended dosage: 0.5 ml / 100 l (27 US gal) of water per day

After the salt has dissolved, the freshly prepared seawater can be used immediately for replacement. When setting up new aquariums, we recommend that you release the first animals no sooner than 10-14 days after filling the reservoir. The salt contains bromides, which are present in natural seawater and therefore it is not recommended for filtration systems with ozone. In the case of using an ozonator, we recommend the Salt Reef Salt Aquaforest. Due to the presence of probiotic bacteria, we recommend that the DKH level be kept within the range of 6.5-8.0, a higher level can negatively influence the condition of the SPS corals.
